5 reasons why you should switch to an electric car

27 januari 2022

It is becoming increasingly popular to drive an electric car. The government is even encouraging people to exchange fuel cars for an electric variant. Perhaps you are also thinking about choosing an electric car, or are you still in doubt? Below we list five reasons why driving an electric car has many advantages.

1. The range is increasing

Almost every car brand has one or more electric cars in its range, and there will probably only be more. There are even a number of car brands that only want to offer electric cars from 2030, such as Volvo and Volkswagen. The range is therefore increasing. Moreover, electric cars are becoming increasingly cheaper to purchase if you compare them with a few years ago. Moreover, the new technologies are running at full speed: the range is increasing and more and more charging stations are being added.

2. Good for the wallet

You save a lot of money when you switch to an electric car. Instead of having to fill the tank with fuel, you can put the car at the charging station. And electricity is a lot cheaper, especially when you charge at your home instead of at a public charging station. You are also entitled to various subsidies if you own an electric car.

3. Give the environment a helping hand

With an electric car you contribute to the environment. The electric car is the most environmentally friendly car that currently exists, if you compare it with a petrol or diesel car. Firstly, with an electric car you emit fewer harmful substances than you would with a fuel car. An electric car emits forty percent less CO2 than a fuel car. It is therefore wise to exchange your fuel car for an electric variant. And if you want to go completely green: choose green energy with which you can charge your car.

4. Different driving experience

It takes some getting used to when you switch from a fuel car to a plug-in car. The driving experience is completely different. The electric car makes almost no noise. You will also have to get used to the pedals in the electric car. With most electric cars you only have to use one pedal: the accelerator pedal. Braking is automatic when you take your foot off the accelerator. There is a brake pedal next to it, since that is necessary. However, you will use it considerably less. Fortunately, you get used to driving an electric car very quickly.

5. Tax benefits

To top it all off, you are entitled to a number of tax benefits when you drive an electric car. This means you do not have to pay BPM and MRB, you are entitled to a subsidy if you purchase an electric car and you also have a lower additional tax. You can also claim the environmental investment deduction and the Vamil.
