Volvo calls the XC40 an 'SUV for the city'. With that, the Swedish brand does this car much too short. The Volvo XC40 is a car that has excellent driving characteristics, even on the highway. Volvo's smallest SUV is still a relatively young model, but with its characteristic, representative appearance, large choice of engines, the 'decent' image and the driving characteristics mentioned, it has conquered a respectable market share in the business market.
Of course, the Volvo XC40, which is reasonably compact for an SUV, is excellent to use as an 'urban SUV'. Thanks to its compact construction, the XC40 can easily be steered through city traffic. The high seating position offers the driver a great all-round view. The XC40 may be fairly compact, but as said before, it is also excellent for longer journeys.
Volvo offers a variety of powertrains for the XC40. There is already a choice between a normal petrol engine (T2 & T3), a mild hybrid (B4 & B5 AWD) and a plug-in hybrid version (T4 & T5 Plug-in hybrid). There will also be a fully electric version soon, the P8 AWD Pure electric. Volvo also uses the addition Recharge for the plug-in cars. The T2, T3 and B4 versions have front-wheel drive. The B4 is optionally also available with four-wheel drive. It is standard for the B5, T4, T5 and P8. Apart from a diesel version, the Volvo XC40 will (soon) be available with all possible types of drives. This occupies a fairly unique position for the Swedish car manufacturer.
The XC40 is, as one would expect from a premium car, equipped with extensive standard equipment. For example, the cheapest model is already equipped with Climate Control, automatic gearbox, large digital instrument panel with extra touchscreen, light-alloy wheels, DAB + radio, LED headlights and Park Assist. Those who want even more luxury and comfort can choose from one of the three packages (Business Pro, R-Design and Inscription). In addition, an extensive list of options is of course also available.
The XC40 has not been around for very long but is quite a success in the business market. Volvo's smallest SUV has quickly become one of the most popular premium lease cars after its market launch. The Volvo XC40 is available in a large number of engine and equipment variants and can therefore be put together almost entirely according to your wishes.
